Once he got this gift, there were suddenly no other toys in the house. 9 months later scarcely a day goes by when he is not attired in full armor off battling dragons, bears or enemy invaders. I bought this set for his 4th birthday and it should be understood that the boy needs to have a degree of self-control so as not to harm siblings, babies, mothers etc. I won’t say none of his sisters have been hit with the sword but he’s pretty good about targeting imaginary foes. The plastic wasn’t too bad as a hit goes. Preferable to the sticks he carried about earlier. I’m not really in favor of encouraging violence in kids but with my son I’ve found it is an unquenchable urge to be victorious by rescuing and battling. With minimal direction he sees himself as protector of mother, sisters and babies, which is good. I also prefer the sword as a weapon for now to guns. Although, these too have a place with parental guidance as to their purpose. (I don’t let him shoot people just “wild beasts” and “intruders”). It helps that his TV intake is zero and videos and games strictly limited. Daddy has to use the dollar store sword in their duels, which has had to be replaced multiple times because it keeps breaking, and is also a more painful blow if accidentally mis-directed. My son’s only regret with this set is that it isn’t “shiny”. Otherwise, a durable toy with many play hours/days/months for the right kind of kid. My son just added to my comments to say that he wishes he could fight in a real war with swords for his country. Mommy is glad he can’t.

He looked adorable! The knight set was pretty large for him and we had to tie on the chest armor to keep it from falling off, but he loved it. He still loves playing with it all and surprisingly has not broken any of it yet (almost 1 month later). It is lightweight and the sword will bend if you hit something to hard. I fell in love with the Harry Potter series years ago, so I had to purchased this pen and bookmark for my desk at work. I’ve been using it for a few weeks now. It’s so nice to bring a little bit of what I love to work with me, makes my little work space comfortable and personal to me. The pen may not be the best writing tool, but it sure is fun when your jotting down numbers and referencing things with this mini replica wand pen. It’s a little pricey when you add in the shipping, but for me, being the fan that I am, it was well worth the price. The Voldemort set is next on my list!
